The UMMS Office of Research has numerous programs to position our researchers for success. The Grant Services & Analysis Office (GS&A) in partnership with OGPS is seeking an experienced Research Administration professional to provide Training Grant support and guidance NIH funded training grant programs. Working closely with the Training Grant Faculty Director and the Assistant Director of Training Grants, the Training Grant Specialist position will work with faculty/staff across units providing guidance, education, and serving as a central resource for faculty and administrators engaged in NIH funded training programs.

Who We are Looking For:
We are looking for a Research Administrator Senior or Intermediate to support our unit and successfully submit and procure sponsored awards. The chosen candidate will coordinate information and training to the administrators that support training grants, specifically NIH T32s. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about research administration, is able to work independently, and a reliable problem solver with a positive attitude.
Responsibilities*
This position has responsibility for serving as source for best practices regarding Training Grant Administration by leading education and training for faculty and staff engaged in NIH training grants by:
This position is also responsible for providing 1-1 consultation to mentor, train, assist and guide new TG Research Administrators, providing content for website and resources such as how-to guides and templates and serving as a liaison with Medical School and campus offices that oversee research administrative and reporting requirements for training grants.

Additional Information
Flexible First Work Policy
This position is eligible for the University of Michigan?s Flexible First Work Policy. The selected candidate will be able to work with their manager to establish a flexible work location and potentially some variation to the hours of work schedule. This position requires the ability to be onsite for meetings and training when needed with travel the responsibility of the employee.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
