Job Summary

The selected candidate will be expected to teach our EAS 687 - Landscape Planning studio to MLA graduate students during the 2025 Winter semester.  Class convenes Mon., Wed., and Fri. from 9a -11:40a, and is taught in the third floor Landscape Architecture studios located in the Dana Building on the campus of the University of Michigan.  
 

EAS 687 "Landscape Planning" is a four-credit course that concentrates on the theory and method of modeling the ecological, climatic, hydrological, and social systems of landscape. Specifically, it focuses on utilizing computing tools to conduct quantitative spatial analysis of landscape factors including land cover, topography, socioeconomics, hydrology, etc. It acquaints students with knowledge and skills of how spatial information can be collected, analyzed, and then combined to generate maps and models that allow stakeholders, planners and design professionals to both investigate and generate land planning alternatives.

Responsibilities*

This course enrolls approximately 25 students and is supported by 1 0.25 Graduate Student Instructor (i.e., 10 hours of support/week/semester). This position requires in-person teaching, remote instruction will not be available. The expected percentage of effort for this course is 33%.

Selected candidates will be contacted and interviewed remotely. The anticipated start date for this position is January 1, 2025.
