Rise Up Academy, is a non-profit 501C3 organization private school in Everett, Washington. Rise Up Academy was designed to close the achievement gap experienced by low-income and under-served BIPOC youth and we have continued to deliver high-impact, quality education in South Snohomish County for over 25 years. Primary Objective:
We are searching for an Executive Director to lead and advance our educational initiatives, and partnerships with the goal of developing staff. This position will also be expected to advance our organizational culture, foster diversity and inclusion and continue to build our internal and external community. This person must also be willing to assist in the continued development of Rise Up Academy and its additional business interest as they develop. This position is crucial in marketing and launching our second location, Rise Up Academy-School Site II. As part of your responsibilities, you must familiarize yourself with all the best practices of Flagship School, Rise Up Academy (site I), to establish benchmark milestones for the new RUA site II. You will be in charge of recruiting new staff and establishing Internal Control Policies and Operational Manuals. Additionally, you will be expected to provide monthly reports to the Executive Board Members of the new school.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities:
The Executive Director will help oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational functions Will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This person will serve as a strategic leader, seeking new, improved, and innovative ways to develop and grow the school, including developing school business interests. This person will need to have a strong analytical, managerial, communication and leadership skills background. This person will also be required to assist with fundraising and other financial aspects of a non- profit 501(c)3 organization. This role involves managing social media and branding to enhance the school's image and increase visibility. Marketing experience is a plus.
Functional Responsibilities:
Candidates should have a knowledge base that includes but is not limited to the following:
- Business development skills when managing and writing grants for donations of a non-profit organization
- Budget, financial statements allocations
- Experience in accounting for non-profit organizations
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations related to business and payroll
- Knowledge of QuickBooks and/or appropriate accounting software
- Project and time management, project coordination
- Working collaboratively
- Engaging with community leaders
- Periodically represent Rise Up Academy during external forums
- Monitors trends and best practices pertaining to education and early learning
- Set requisites and track staff performance
- Provide strong people leadership and foster growth and development
- Continue to cultivate an environment where all individuals, regardless of race/ethnicity, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, ability, or status feel safe and included
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management, non-profit management or other applicable discipline.
- 5 Years experience working at a non-profit in a financial leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical, managerial, communication and leadership skills.
- High EQ with track record of successful consensus building and managing up and down organizations.
- Experience writing grant proposals to public and government entities.
- Good decision maker with ability to effectively document and communicate decisions.
- Makes decisions and can take actions that contributes to successful outcomes.
- Shares and expresses thoughts in a clear and effective manner through verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibits effective listening skills and builds positive relationships with the public, staff, students, media and school guests.
- Exhibits diplomatic, tactful and professional communication skills.
- Takes responsibility for getting things done in a way that positively and professionally represents Rise Up Academy.
- Handles sensitive and/or confidential information professionally, involving only those who need to be involved or informed.
- Workplace behavior must be consistently respectful of others.
- Strong attention to detail and deadlines.
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, QuickBooks).
Salary Start at: $60,000- DOE
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
