HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Cabling Technician and Wiring Specialist is responsible for managing the installation and documentation of wiring and hardware to support connectivity at SDZWA. The Cabling Technician and Wiring Specialist reports to the Network Engineering Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Installs low voltage and Fiber Optic cable to meet business requirements.
• Troubleshoots and repairs cabling/wiring across all sites.
• Installs wiring and Access points for all Wi-Fi requests
• Maintains appropriate levels of inventory to meet business requests.
• Maintains documentation of wiring maps across all sites.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This role is located at the San Diego Zoo. Ability to work a flexible schedule during weekdays. Able to travel to San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance sites.

JOB EXPERIENCE

• 5+ Years of experience installing and maintaining low voltage & fiber optic cabling in an enterprise environment required.
  

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Information Technology or equivalent experience
  

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Strong working knowledge of installing, troubleshooting, repairing cable system infrastructure.
• Knowledge of computer Wi-Fi & mounting access points, networking and Infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Fiber Optic and low voltage cabling and best practices.
• Must have effective customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in a diverse environment.
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines using effective time management skills
