Sr. Research Program Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Research Program Supervisor who must be trained in conducting school-based research study assessments and have experience assisting with supervising & /or training research staff in assessment activities. Duties include but are not limited to training and supervising research staff on collecting data using computerized and web-based interviewing materials designed to assess a broad range of tailored and comprehensive student, young adult & adult behaviors. Multiple tasks include training, supervising, and conducting assessments in schools with identified students enrolled in the trial, training, supervising, and conducting assessments with young adults enrolled in a long-term follow-up study. Will work closely with teachers and school administrators and other research collaborators around the multiple projects being conducted at the Center for Prevention and Early Intervention. Also, includes, verifying and logging confidential data into a centralized database, and communicating with the multiple participants around the assessments. Duties also include reviewing data for accuracy and completeness, generating access reports, etc. With the Center PI & current research faculty, the Sr. Research Program Supervisor will provide extensive training for research assistants to learn how to work independently to establish contact with teachers and families, build rapport, and conduct unbiased computerized assessments. Sr. Research Program Supervisor will also meet regularly with the research team as part of weekly supervision meetings.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Hiring approximately ten research assistants in accordance with JHU human resources policy.
  • Supervision of research assistants in assessment procedures; training research assistants from multiple projects, setting the daily schedule for research assistants, monitoring their progress, and ensuring that quality control procedures are adhered to.
  • Assist in the supervision of research staff data collection, participant assessments, and office duties.
  • Being the point of contact for data collectors during evening and weekend unexpected events and crisis response questions.
  • Managing and approving the time of research assistants in accordance with JHU payroll policy.
  • Develop and collaborate with PI and Research Faculty to develop operational procedures and protocols for implementing assessment components for NIH grants.
  • Develop timelines for assessment activities for multiple Center projects.
  • Maintains good working knowledge of all assigned study protocols and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with IRB regulations and Certificate of Confidentiality regulations.
  • Expected to collaborate with center investigators and center staff to efficiently move forward the Center’s research projects and proposals with opportunities to assist with grant submissions.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Three years related experience, with some supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in conducting & assisting with training research staff in the administration of classroom-based observations.
  • Must have experience working with school systems, teachers, and child/adolescent minority populations.
  • Experience interviewing with youth, teachers, and/or adults.
  • Preferred experience with Sr. Research Program Supervisors that have worked with federal grants.
  • Successful Sr. Research Program Supervisors will have experience in crisis response protocols with participant-based research projects.

 


 

Classified Title: Sr. Research Program Supervisor 
Role/Level/Range: ACRP/03/MC  
Starting Salary Range: $48,000 - $84,100 Annually ($61,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience) 
Employee group: Full Time 
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm, Some weekend and evening hours are required 
Exempt Status: Exempt
