Job Description
The Coordinating Center for the Major Extremity Trauma and Rehabilitation Consortium (METRC) housed in the Department of Health Policy and Management is looking for a part-time Research Program Assistant II for 25hours per week to support the reporting and analyses for clinical trials and observational studies in Orthopedic trauma and rehabilitation. This is a part-time position with a 25-hours-per-week schedule.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- The Research Program Assistant II will assist research data collection and management activities.
- Collaborate with assigned study teams to produce weekly study progress reports.
- Compose queries utilizing both custom R functions and pre-formatted generators to flag study issues at the individual data point level for each assigned study.
- Proactively seek to improve or optimize data workflows within assigned study teams.
- Utilize and update the system to track the logical framing of research concepts across the centers ongoing studies and then map those concepts to fields found in common study forms.
- Design functions that work within the automatic reporting system that produce visualizations based on combinations of research concepts.
- Assist in the maintenance of a Python Flask web server on the Google Cloud Platform that automates the collection of external administrative information and constructs and hosts on-demand study progress &query reports.
- Communicate with Sr. Programmer Analysts and Data Managers regularly with respect to data management related issues.
- Other Potential Responsibilities
- As skills are mastered, share in teaching other or new data-centric Research Program Assistants.
- Write detailed documentation/specifications for both existing and to-be-built research applications.
- Create tables and figures in publication-quality form summarizing the results of statistical analyses and present results orally to study investigators.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Two years related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using some form of GIT, basic programming skills is preferred.
